AI assistants

MCP server

The same API key, spoken in plain language: an MCP server your assistant can use.

Point an AI assistant at VeliraPay and let it raise invoices, make payment links and check what has been paid, in plain language. The server speaks the Model Context Protocol, takes the same API key as a bearer token and is bound to that key's account.

That is the shape Claude Desktop, Claude Code and most other clients use; a client that speaks only stdio can reach it through a bridge such as mcp-remote.

Tools

Tool What it does
get_account Read the account, its default currency and the coins it can be paid in. Worth calling first.
list_payment_links Find links by title or state, with their view counts.
create_payment_link Make a checkout page, fixed price or open amount.
update_payment_link Change a link's wording, price, expiry or limit, or archive and restore it.
list_charges List payments by state, or read one in full with its transactions.
create_charge Ask one customer for one payment in a chosen coin.
cancel_charge Close a charge that is still waiting to be paid.
list_invoices List invoices, including only the overdue ones.
create_invoice Bill a customer for a total or a list of items, optionally emailing it.
send_invoice Email an open invoice, or chase it as a reminder.
void_invoice Withdraw an open invoice raised by mistake.

What it will not do

  • Change payout addresses or payment settings. Where your money goes is set by a person on the payment settings page, behind a password prompt, and the server only reads it.
  • Move money. Payouts to your wallet are automatic and cannot be raised, redirected or reversed from here, and a refund is something you send by hand and then record.
  • Reach another account. The key decides the account, and an id belonging to anybody else simply is not found.

The tools do write: they create charges and invoices, email customers and archive links. Give an assistant a key you are happy for it to use, revoke it under Developers → API keys if you change your mind, and read the activity log to see what it did. Requests count towards the same rate limit as the REST API.
